As a small but extremely busy station in the SARA family, Newport covers lifeboat search and rescue activity on the tidal river Usk, as well as flood rescue and swift water search and rescue activities. We are tasked by HM Coastguard as well as Gwent police and regularly support the Newport Fire Service. Our 15 odd operational crew are busy supporting call outs, maintaining their training competency requirements and fundraising events.
